Intersectionality

Intersectionality highlights the importance of addressing biases and barriers affecting parents and caregivers whose experiences intersect multiple forms of systemic exclusion across race, class, sex, gender, ability, religion, and more. This principle calls us to position the experiences and perspectives of marginalised communities at the forefront of any initiative, not as an afterthought. Putting intersectionality into practice means ensuring that opportunities, exhibitions, studios, and galleries actively promote diverse representation, and participation. This involves adopting practices that disrupt dominant narratives and create spaces that are truly welcoming and affirming for minoritised communities.
